Linda Strine
Linda Strine is an experienced communications and corporate strategy professional specializing in government relations, customer relationship management and integrated marketing communications in the defense and aerospace sectors. Strine has approximately 20 years experience working with NASA, DOT, DOD as well as OSTP and related congressional committees.
From June 2001 to present, Strine represents numerous high technology clients in the areas of business development, government relations, strategic communications and customer relationship management. Specific focus areas include NASA headquarters and the various centers, national laboratories, U. S. Air Force, prime contractors and a variety of high technology small businesses. Strine also provides Public Relations support to the Space Exploration Coalition.
From March 2000 - May 2001, Strine was director of Strategic Communications for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. She reported directly to the Executive Vice President and to the Vice President, Communications of Space Systems Company. Strine was responsible for management of all internal and external communications activities for the seven business units that comprise Space Systems Company.
From 1995 - March 2000, Strine was director of Communications for Lockheed Martin Astronautics, responsible for communications operations, including media and community relations, marketing communications, trade shows and exhibits, and employee communications.
From 1987-1995, Strine was deputy associate director for program affairs for the Office of Commercial Space Transportation (OCST). She reported to the Office of the Secretary of Transportation in Washington, D.C. as the key liaison with congressional members and committee staff, the media, private industry groups, other government agencies and the public on technical and program issues pertaining to the U. S. commercial space industry. Strine also served as the executive director of the Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee (COMSTAC).
Before joining the Department of Transportation, Strine served as a senior staff assistant to U. S. Senator Charles McC. Mathias, Jr., (R-MD) from 1975-1986. She also worked with the Maryland General Assembly in Annapolis, Maryland, and at the local level in her native Hagerstown, Maryland.
From 1993-1994, Strine was a Fellow for the Council on Excellence in Government and is cited as an Outstanding Woman of the Year, and Who's Who in the U. S. and internationally. She has received two Outstanding Leadership and Recognition Awards from Women in Aerospace and numerous special achievement and outstanding performance awards from the Department of Transportation and Lockheed Martin Corp.
In 1999, Strine received an award from the Black Effectiveness Support Team (BEST) as the BEST person of the year. She is the 1996 recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from Women in Aerospace, and won the National Space Society's Space Pioneer Award in 1991. Strine is a doctoral candidate in Public Policy, University Southern California, holds a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Towson University.
